The Strategic Plan is complete – thank you Leduc.

Our journey started by listening to you, the community. Your ideas, dreams and aspirations for your community helped shape the new four year Strategic Plan for the City of Leduc. This Plan will guide Council activities and decisions until 2022. Keeping our community informed on the progress of the implementation of the Strategic Plan is important so City Council will review and report progress made through annual and quarterly reports.

Our commitment is to continue our dialogue with the community, so sign-up for project updates and check back often to learn about what the City of Leduc is up to, and how you can get involved. To view the Strategic Plan, click here.

It’s time to get involved. Let’s talk Leduc and build a stronger community, together.

What is a commmunity vision?
“This is where we want to go.”

Our vision will describe what we value about our community and what we want it to look and feel like in the future. It says “this is where we want to go.” It is something we aspire to.

The vision also helps guide Council and administration in goal-setting and in developing policies and actions that align with overarching community values and priorities.

What is a four year strategic plan and what does it mean to me?
“This is how we’ll get there.”

While a vision describes what community members want, a strategic plan describes the steps that can help get there.

City Council starts each term by renewing the city’s strategic plan that will guide activities and decisions for the next four years. It’s Council’s commitment to the community. The plan is based on the city’s best understanding of the environment in which we live and is informed by the needs and desires of citizens.

The 2019 – 2022 strategic plan will identify key areas to address over the next four years with goals and objectives.

FALL 2017

INTERNAL DEEP DIVE: Analyze learnings and feedback from past initiatives including past strategic planning and visioning days.

NOVEMBER – DECEMBER 2017

CONSULT: Introduce the project and engage citizens on community vision, values and priorities. We’ll then report back on the input received.

WINTER 2018

INFORM: Provide the community with updates on the progress made by Leduc City Council and administration while they help to build upon the plan.

SPRING 2018

CONSULT: Provide the community with an opportunity to provide input on the vision and strategic plan and report back to City Council.

SUMMER 2018

INFORM: Share the final plan with citizens and stakeholders.

Have your voice heard! We have upcoming public participation events.

Our journey started by listening to you – the community. During the first two phases of the project, we heard your ideas and aspirations for our city. Council and Administration have reviewed those ideas and have developed a renewed draft Strategic Plan. Now we want to hear from you again – does the draft Strategic Plan reflect your feedback?

Ways to join the conversation:

Phase 4 of the project is now complete. Thank you to all of our neighbours for your participation so far.

During Phase 4, we shared the draft Strategic Plan with the community and asked you for your input on our proposed focus areas and how we intended to meet and measure progress made on each focus area. Council and administration will now review all input heard and will share findings in an upcoming What We Heard report.
